Empty palm fruit bunches (EFB) are the fibrous fruit skeletons left after palm oil extraction, representing the largest processing byproduct of the palm oil industry. Fresh EFB has a high moisture content of 60%-70%, making it extremely susceptible to mold and rot. Improper open-air storage not only produces foul odors and attracts insects, but the greenhouse gases produced during fermentation also violate local environmental regulations, leading to hefty fines for businesses. Direct transportation and disposal also incurs high logistics costs and occupies significant amounts of factory land. Addressing the challenges of EFB waste disposal in palm oil plants, our company offers a complete EFB resource utilization turnkey production line solution, completely resolving the dual problems of waste accumulation and environmental compliance.
Complete Process Flow of a Turnkey Pellet Production Line:
1. Pre-treatment Shredding Section (Dedicated EFB Heavy-Duty Shredder): Fresh empty palm fiber bunches are large and extremely tough. A dedicated multi-blade shredder breaks the entire bunch into short fibers of 5-15cm, solving the problem of long fiber entanglement. It is equipped with a belt conveyor, storage silo, and dust removal system.
2. Crushing and Powdering Section (Hammer Mill): The shredded palm fiber is further crushed to fine powder below 8mm, meeting the particle size standard for pellet formation. A cyclone dust collector is included to recover fine powder and prevent loss.
3. Core Section for Rotary Drying (Adapted to a High-Moisture EFB Dedicated Three-Pass Dryer): The original EFB has a moisture content of approximately 65%. It is dried to the standard molding moisture content of 12%-15% using waste heat/biomass hot air. Waste heat from the palm oil plant boiler can be directly reused, significantly reducing operating energy consumption. This is the core energy-saving unit of the entire production line.
4. Ring Die Pellet Forming Section (Core Main Unit of the Production Line) :A dedicated high-pressure ring die pellet mill, with optimized pressure rollers and ring die compression ratio for coarse palm fiber, produces high-density fuel pellets of 6/8/10mm, with a finished product calorific value ≥4000 kcal, meeting the import standards for boilers in Japan, South Korea, and Europe.
5. Post-processing Section
Countercurrent Cooler: Cools and hardens high-temperature pellets, improving pellet durability and preventing breakage during sea transport;
Grading and Screening: Removes powdery waste for reprocessing;
Fully Automatic Packaging Machine: Automatically weighs and seals 25/50kg ton bags, suitable for container export.
