Dingli Group has successfully completed the installation and integrated commissioning of a sugar beet pulp drying project in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The entire production line is now ready for stable operation, serving as a model for the circular utilization of by-products within the Central Asian sugar industry.

This sugar beet pulp drying line features a raw material processing capacity of 30 tons per hour, capable of consistently reducing the moisture content of fresh sugar beet pulp—which can be as high as 75%—to below 14%.

Sugar beet pulp is a major by-product of the sugar beet refining industry. Due to its high sugar and moisture content, it is prone to rapid fermentation and mold growth when stored at ambient temperatures, resulting in a very short shelf life and high long-distance transportation costs—a persistent challenge for sugar refineries. Taking into account local climatic conditions, the plant layout, and the specific characteristics of sugar beet pulp—namely its high viscosity and tendency to scorch—Dingli developed a customized low-temperature drying process. By optimizing the heat exchange and material-lifting mechanisms, the system effectively prevents material from sticking to the walls or charring, ensuring efficient dehydration while maximizing the retention of crude fiber and essential nutrients.

Once dried, the shelf life of the sugar beet pulp is significantly extended. It can be sold as high-quality feed for ruminants or processed into biomass fuel, transforming what was once a difficult-to-manage waste product into a high-value commodity. This project not only alleviates the environmental pressure associated with the accumulation of solid waste but also creates a new revenue stream, helping the client reduce costs and increase efficiency.

With deep expertise in drying technology for various types of residues, Dingli provides comprehensive drying systems and integrated solutions to sugar refineries and agricultural processing enterprises worldwide. These solutions cover a range of agricultural and forestry processing residues, including sugar beet pulp, sugarcane bagasse, and fruit pomace. Through its advanced drying technology, Dingli empowers circular agriculture, supporting food processing enterprises globally in their transition toward green and sustainable development.
